yusuf estes tid-bit: fitrah

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

About fitrah in terms of babies being born pure - in Islam we do not believe in the concept of original sin, and thus there is no need for a saviour to die for our sins as a "lamb of God" - in Islam each person is responsible for their own soul, they are accountable for their own deeds and no soul shall carry the burden of the sins of another.

‘And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And if a heavily laden soul calls [another] to [carry some of] its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if he should be a close relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and have established prayer. And whoever purifies himself only purifies himself for [the benefit of] his soul. And to God is the [final] destination’ (Surah Fatir 35:18)

Salaam!!

What about Husbands are responsible for their wives' actions and mothers/parents for their young children? I've always been doubtful of the former but how about the latter?
